Racing with QCW

QCW Cycling fields very competitive category 1, 2, 3, 4, novice, and masters teams for men and women. No matter what your racing experience is, there is a place for you racing with QCW Cycling. Many of the elite team members began riding with QCW Cycling as novice riders starting as members of our lower category squads, earning points, primes, and races, as well as sharing many fun moments along the way.

Elite Team

QCW Cycling is consistently a very strong presence in the Cat 1 and Cat 2 fields on the road, and the track. Both men and women’s teams have been at the top of the PA Bar points standings — as individual riders, and also for the team category. The elite team also successfully competes in local, regional, and national level events. Even though our elite teams compete at elite levels, our culture is such that still allows riders the time and flexibility for personal careers and family outside of racing.

The QCW Elite Racing Teams is different than most elite teams in the United States in that we do not actively look for riders from outside QCW Cycling. Instead, we mentor individuals from within our club helping advance their skills to the elite levels. The elite team hosts group rides, skills clinics, one-on-one mentoring and race day coaching. If you are interested in joining the QCW Elite racing team from outside of our club, please inquire with our Board of Directors.

Category 3 thru 5 Teams

No matter what your racing experience level is (beginner to elite level), you will always find other QCW members who are at similar experience levels and motivation. Every year our racers continue to upgrade their cycling skills resulting in racing category upgrades. QCW Cycling has some very accomplished racers with years of experience in all cycling disciplines to help guide your progression through the juggernaut of bike racing. Members of out elite and Masters teams act as mentors and coaches for our riders by helping out at races, teaching racing tactics, hosting club rides, and skills clinics.

Masters Teams

Whether new to cycling, or on the road since wooden rims were a thing, The QCW Masters team offers camaraderie at local rides, at National Championships, and virtually every other cycling event in between. The men and women of the QCW masters team are “in it to win it”. Sometimes it’s a cash prime, and sometimes it’s just winning the town line sprint, on a warm, sunny day, with friends… followed by a pint (or a cup of coffee, if that’s your thing) at one of QCW’s sponsors.
