Historic Riverton Crit

3/4
Tough day in Riverton for all of us that raced I think!
I raced the 3/4, and having done this race two years ago, and also confirmed by Mike Black before the start, I knew it would be full gas right from the gun, so I staged very early to make sure I was on the front and didn't miss the first splits. There were 85 racers.

We raced conservatively, smart, and strong and had some of our best results yet this year with Mike in 5th, Bob 7th and Jon 10th. The race was smooth and safe, and we got some excellent support from Joe Secoges and Bob's wife Jocelyn who did feeds during the race. Really happy with the way we rode as a team against some strong local competition, and pleased with the results that came from it.
Smoketown Crit

4/5 & 3/4
I raced both the 4/5 and 3/4 at the Smoketown Airport on Saturday. This was my first time ever doing two races in one day, with just over two hours in between races. For those of you that haven't been there, the course (actually on the runway!) was a sort of oval that was fatter on the top end (turns 1, 2, and 3) with a U-turn down at the bottom at the end of the slightly downhill back straight that you could still take at very high speed. So the start finish was on a slight uphill.
Easton Twilight Criterium

Saturday afternoon I lined up for one of the most fun race courses in the area with Chris Sell and Joe Secoges for the 40 plus race. There were about 60 other gentlemen of a certain age and we had the unusual practice of starting up in a grid.
